Ask for changes on a post
You can tell Lyra what to change right on a finished post, the way you would comment on a pull request. Point at the paragraph you want different, say what you want, and send it. She changes only the parts you pointed at, and you can undo the round if you do not like it. This page covers leaving comments, following the change, and undoing it.
Leave comments
- Open the post from Blogs and switch to the Article view.
- Hover over a paragraph, heading, list, or table. A plus sign appears beside it.
- Click the plus sign and type what you want changed in What should Lyra change here?.
- Click Add comment, or press Cmd + Enter.
Leave as many comments as you like across the post. Each one stays marked You · not sent yet until you send it, and you can Edit or Remove it before then.
The banner takes comments too. Ask for a different one and Lyra works from the banner you already have, so the new one still looks like it came off your blog. Banners need a Gemini key; see Banner images.
Send them to Lyra
When you are done, click Send N comments to Lyra in the Ask for changes panel. She reads every comment at once, changes only the parts you pointed at, and follows your writing guide while she does it.
Your comments stay on screen while she works, and the post updates in front of you when she is done. Send another round whenever the last one lands.
Where the change goes depends on your setup:
- With a repo connected, she commits the change to the post's open pull request, so GitHub matches what you are reading. The commit message says what she changed, and your comments and what she did about them are noted on the pull request.
- Without a repo, she rewrites the copy of the post she is holding for you. That is the same copy that goes into your repo the day you connect one.
See what changed
Every request stays beside the post: what you asked for, what she changed, and when she found the post already said it and left it alone. A count sits beside each section a request touched. Click it to open What changed from the paragraph you are reading, with a before and after for each change.
Undo a change
Changed your mind? Click Undo under the before and after, and confirm with Undo it. The post goes straight back to how it read before that round.
- Undo the undo. Click Put the change back to restore it, so trying something is never a decision you are stuck with.
- Most recent first. Only the latest round can be undone, so an undo never quietly throws away something you asked for afterwards. Undo that one first and the one before it is next in line.
- The banner stays. If the round also made a new banner, undoing it keeps the new banner, because Lyra keeps only a post's current one. She tells you this before you undo.
- GitHub stays in step. With a repo connected, the undo is committed to the pull request and noted there too.
