Banner images

Lyra can generate a hero banner for each post using Google Gemini. Banners are optional. If you skip them, posts still ship with everything else intact. You add a Gemini key during onboarding or in Settings > API keys.

Add a Gemini key

  1. Create a Google Gemini API key. It starts with AIza.
  2. In Lyra, paste it into the Gemini key field during onboarding, or in Settings > API keys.
  3. Lyra validates and saves it encrypted.

From then on, Writer generates a hero banner for each new post and attaches it to the draft.

Skip banners

During onboarding you can choose Skip banners for now. Lyra writes and ships posts without a banner. You can add a Gemini key later at any time, and new posts will include banners from that point on.

How banners work

  • Banners are generated per post, at write time, by the Writer agent.
  • The image is attached to the draft and appears in the Article view on the blog detail page.
  • Banners use your Gemini key, so image generation bills to your Google account.

Troubleshooting

Issue: Posts have no banner

Symptoms: New drafts ship without a hero image.

Diagnosis: No Gemini key is set, or the key was rejected.

Resolution: Add a valid Gemini key that starts with AIza in Settings > API keys. Existing posts keep their current state; new posts include banners.
